Drew Craig

Drew Craig, has served as a Reservist in the British Army for over 30 years and is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Engineers. His roles have spanned defence and geospatial intelligence, infrastructure support, explosive ordnance disposal and search (EOD&S), and civil-military cooperation (CIMIC). He has deployed operationally in Iraq and contributed to capacity development initiatives across multiple African states.

As the British Army’s principal geologist, Drew led a specialist team supporting both domestic and overseas missions. His expertise includes subterranean operations, infrastructure assessments, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), resilience planning, and natural resource management. Passionate about defence innovation and military geosciences, he serves as Secretary of the International Association for Military Geosciences (IAMG).

In his civilian career, Drew specializes in natural resource exploration and development, working across various commodities and project stages. With additional expertise in logistics and operational support, he has consulted for mining companies, advised governments on resource policy, and worked as a contractor on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives in Afghanistan.

He holds a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Mineral Exploration, is a Chartered Engineer (Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining), and a Fellow of the Geological Society.
